ICONIC AWARDS 2018: Innovative Architecture – The whole world of architecture International architecture and design competition.
독일 디자인 협회(German Design Council)가 주관하는 올해 ICONIC AWARDS 2018 프로젝트는 혁신적인 건축가, 디자이너, 제작자에게 열려 있다. “The ICONIC AWARDS 2018: 혁신적인 건축”은 건축과 디자인의 모든 분야 간 소통을 보여주는 사례를 높이 산다. 이러한 것은 건축 분야에서 흥미로운 소통뿐만 아니라 국제적으로 뛰어난 구조 프로젝트, 혁신적인 인테리어 그리고 제품 디자인에 집중한다.
건축가들, 디자이너들, 건물 부문과 산업은 그들의 기부금과 함께 다시 한번 ICONIC AWARDS 2018에 초대된다. 대회 접수는 2018년 5월 14일부터 시작된다. Michel Casertano (Atelier Bruckner) and Linda Stannieder (GRAFT BRANDLAB Berlin)과 같은 건축, 인테리어, 디자인, 그리고 브랜드 커뮤니케이션의 분야들의 저명한 대표자들로 구성된 독립 심사위원들이 ICONIC AWARDS 2018에서 건축, 인테리어, 제품, 커뮤니케이션과 개념 각 부문의 최고 우승자를 뽑을 것이다.
올해는 “혁신적인 재료”(Innovative Material)이라고 불리는 새로운 상이 소개된다. 건축, 인테리어, 그리고 제품 부문에 지원하는 모든 참가자들은 혁신적인 재료의 사용에 따라 구분되고 따라서 건물, 인테리어, 제품 디자인에 커다란 영향을 끼치게 될 것이고 그 프로젝트는 보다 상위의 카테고리에 포함될 것이다. 여기서 주안점은 지속 가능하고 에너지 효율이 좋은 재료의 개발과 그 재료의 기능에 있어서 활용도뿐만 아니라 디자인 또한 훌륭해야 할 것이다.
이러한 대회의 구조 아래, 총 약 20,000유로의 상금은 올해의 건축과 인테리어 디자인의 범주 안에서 다시 수상될 것이다. 노미네이션은 거래 미디어의 대표자와 심사위원에 의해 만들어질 예정이다. 작년에는 건축사무소 AL-A가 올해의 건축가 상을 수상했다. 2009년에 건축가 Amanda Levete에 의해 건립된 이 회사는 런던에 기반을 두고 있고 설립 초창기부터 흥미로운 디자인으로 전문가들에게 깊은 인상을 주는 데에 성공했다. 대표작으로는 파리에 있는 Galeries Lafayette, the V&A Museum in London and the Central Embassy, 방콕에 있는 쇼핑몰이 있다. 2016년에 완공된 리스본에 있는 The Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology (MAAT) 또한 센세이션을 불러일으켰다.

Entries are open for architects, designers and manufacturers to submit projects for this year’s ICONIC AWARDS 2018: Innovative Architecture, organized by the German Design Council. The ICONIC AWARDS 2018: Innovative Architecture honor superb examples of the interaction of all disciplines in an independent architecture and design competition which focuses on internationally outstanding construction projects, innovative interior and product design as well as compelling communication in an architectural context.
Architects, designers, the building sector and industry are once more invited to participate in the ICONIC AWARDS 2018: Innovative Architecture with their contributions. Applications for the competition will be accepted through 14 May 2018. An independent jury composed of renowned representatives from the fields of architecture, interior design, design and brand communication, such as Michel Casertano (Atelier Bruckner) and Linda Stannieder (GRAFT BRANDLAB Berlin) will choose the Winners, Best of Best and Selection of the ICONIC AWARDS 2018: Innovative Architecture in the categories Architecture, Interior, Product, Communication and Concept.
This year, a new prize entitled “Innovative Material” is being introduced. All participants whose entries in the categories Architecture, Interior and Product are particularly distinguished by the use of innovative materials and thus have a distinctive influence on the design of buildings, interior rooms and products, can enter their project in this superordinate category. The focus here is squarely on the development of sustainable, energy-efficient materials that are also versatile in terms of function as well as design. Within the framework of the competition, prize money amounting to EUR 20,000 in total will be awarded again in the special categories Architects of the Year and Interior Designers of the Year. An honorary award will go to the Architects’ Client of the Year. Nominations will be made by the jury as well as representatives of the trade media. Last year, the architectural firm AL-A was awarded the title of Architects of the Year. The London-based office founded by the architect Amanda Levete in 2009 succeeded from the very beginning in impressing the experts with fascinating designs, including the modernization of the Galeries Lafayette in Paris, the V&A Museum in London and the Central Embassy, a shopping mall in Bangkok. The Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology (MAAT) in Lisbon, completed in 2016, likewise created a sensation.
The jury’s pick for the title of Interior Designers of the Year was the designer duo Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu, who have been creating spectacular projects with their Neri&Hu Design and Research Office for many years, ranging from architecture in space to furniture design. By questioning the traditional use of spaces, things and materials as such and continuously placing them in new contexts, they create uniquely beautiful designs with their typical signature time and again. The prize of honor Architects’ Client of the Year, which honors the fostering of a holistic understanding of architecture on the part of a contracting company, was awarded to the City of Hamburg for the spectacular concert hall Elbphilharmonie. The Elbphilharmonie, which opened in 2017, is not merely another concert hall, but a world-class architectural icon of inestimable cultural value. Bringing the project to fruition despite immense delays and huge cost overruns required people with visionary power, courage and stamina, particularly on the part of the client.
